ANDREW J. BOONE 
     Andrew J. “Bud” Boone, the son of Andrew H. and Jeanette (Zuiderweg) Boone, was born April 4, 1924 on a farm near Sheldon, Iowa. He received his education in Sheldon and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1941. On December 20, 1944, he was united in marriage to Ardis M. Dilly in the United Presbyterian Church in Ashton. The young couple moved to Des Moines, Iowa where Bud attended Radio and Television Repair School. After his education they moved to Spencer, Iowa for a year, before moving back to Sheldon, where Bud owned and operated Boone’s Radio & Television Repair for 35 years. Bud passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, reaching the age of 85 years, 6 months and 22 days. 
     He was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon and a past member of the Sheldon Lions Club. Bud enjoyed bowling and spending time fishing at his cottage on East Okoboji in his old wood Century boat. Bud also enjoyed pheasant hunting. 
     Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ardis; and their three children, Gail and her husband, George Thornton of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Dave and his wife, Sandie Boone of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Denise Reed and Allan Feekes of Peterson, Iowa; six grandchildren, Angela and Ray Millard; Matthew and Mindy Thornton; Andrea and Dave Stott; Nicholas Boone; Jesse and Elizabeth Reed; three great-grandchildren, Marissa Boone; Charlotte Millard and Jensen Thornton; a brother and his wife, Bernie and Clara Boone of Sheldon; and two brothers-in-law, Loyal Monkemeier of Sanborn and Robert Henrich of San Pedro, California and other relatives and friends. 
     He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Dorthena Den Beste.
