ANN LORRAINE THOMS

Ann Lorraine Thoms, the daughter of Louis and Ella (Kruse) Warnke was born January 9, 1924 in Paullina, Iowa. She received her education in Paullina graduating from Paullina High School in 1941. On April 26, 1945, she was united in marriage to Lester F. Thoms in Sioux City, Iowa. After their marriage the couple settled in Paullina where Ann Lorraine was a homemaker. She later worked as a cook in the Paullina schools. Her husband preceded her in death on June 16, 1993 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Ann Lorraine remained in the family home in Paullina until moving to the Sutherland Care Center in February of 2010. She passed away at the Sutherland Care Center on Monday, September 30, 2013 reaching the age of 89 years, 8 months and 21 days.
She was baptized on February 17, 1924 and later confirmed on July 23, 1939 and was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.
Ann Lorraine is survived by a son, Dennis and his wife, Becky Thoms of Mason City, Iowa; a grandson, Derek and his wife, Aaron-Marie Thoms of Marion, Iowa; three great grandchildren, Deklan, Drew and Davis; two sisters, Lucy Jane Kamradt of Sutherland and Flora May Clayton of Spirit Lake, Iowa also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
