Arlan Wayne Gesink, age 72, of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Select Specialty Care of Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date.

Arlan Wayne Gesink, the son of William and Wilhelmina (Wassenaar) Gesink was born on August 25, 1948 in Denver, Colorado. He grew up and attended the Denver School System. While living in Denver he worked for Brannon Sand and Gravel. Arlan was united in marriage to Charmaine Cummins on June 19, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2001, they moved to Sheldon, Iowa and Arlan worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Van Hoef Automotive of Sanborn, Iowa. Arlan passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Select Specialty Care of Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, reaching the age of 72 years, 8 months and 18 days.
Arlan enjoyed leather work, metal working, drawing, making jewelry and raising horses.
Arlan is survived by his wife, Charmaine; his children, David Gesink of Denver, Colorado; Tyson (Tracey) Kester of Sheldon, Iowa; Katie (Daniel) Groen of Primghar, Iowa and Abigail Gesink of Denver, Colorado; a grandson, Gavin Groen; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
