As a child, she grew up in rural Primghar and received her education and graduated from Primghar High School. She married Milton Sampson in 1948 and they farmed and raised livestock south of Hartley for 15 years. To this union, they were blessed with their daughter, Nancy. Arlene passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa reaching the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 8 days.
Arlene was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar. She enjoyed camping, polka dancing, and playing cards when visiting friends and relatives. She collected many John Deere and cardinal collectibles. Her two grandchildren were the apple of her eye.
