ASHLEY MICHELLE GRIFFIN

Ashley Michelle Griffin, an amazing daughter, sister and friend to countless people across the country, died early June 21. She was 25.
Ashley was a traveler across the United States, collecting friends from her hometown of Sheldon, Iowa, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Washington, D.C.; before settling in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Ashley was born in Peru but spent her early years in Sheldon, Iowa on her family farm. Adopted by loving parents, alongside her sister and her cats, Ashley grew into a woman with a drive for curiosity and passion. She moved to Philadelphia, PA to work as nanny and attend Arcadia University. In 2010, she moved to Washington, DC to work as a nanny for children with special needs. In the nations capital, she immediately becomes the center of attention among dozens of friends through her infectious personality and curly black hair. She loved gathering her friends together in D.C. and watching her beloved Washington Nationals and Green Bay Packers.
Ashley moved to Cincinnati in 2013 to pursue a degree in special education and she worked at Macys Department Store. She was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia in 2014. She fought valiantly against the disease during a seven month stay at University Hospital and Cincinnati Childrens Hospital.
Ashley is survived by her father Timothy Griffin of Sheldon, Iowa, and her sister Katerina Griffin of Spearfish, South Dakota. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jan Griffin.

Donations will be sent to the Childrens Hospital
Music Therapy department to purchase
new instruments by the family.
