BARBARA E. HAACK

Barbara Ellen Haack was born on November 29, 1937 in Sioux County on the family farm near Sheldon to Nick and Effie (Bansema) Haack. She attended Lynn Township #5 rural school, and later Sheldon Community Schools. She attended Westmar College, Wayne State College, and other area colleges until she was able to graduate with her degree. She completed many years of teaching elementary school. After retiring in 1996, she volunteered many years as childrens voices became music to her ears. Her heart belonged to her wonderful grandchildren.
Barb was an active member at Sheldon United Methodist Church. She was also a member with the Iowa State and National Education Associations. She attended Peace Links meetings and volunteered at Village Northwest.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristy and her husband Greg Mills of Hartley, Iowa; grandchildren, Matt and Kelly Mills and their son Levi, Kelsie and Wes Boyer and their daughter, Bradie and Katelyn Mills. Other surviving family members are her brother, Rich and his wife Sandy Haack and daughters and families and Donna and her husband Don Koepnick and daughters and families.
Preceding her in death are her parents, two sisters, Nella Mae and Rebecca Thompson and so many others who left too soon.
