BERNICE M. TRAVER

Bernice Silberstein Traver was born November 9, 1933 in Crofton, Nebraska to John and Mary (Feldhacker) Foxhoven. In 1944 she moved to Spencer, Iowa. She later married Wilfred Silberstein in 1952. In this union 3 children were born; Judy, Fred and Mike. Wilfred passed away May 23, 1968. In January of 1970, Bernice was united in marriage to Charles Traver. In this union one son was born, Charles David Jr.
Bernice was active in the Paullina community. She was employed as a checker at Lemkes/United Food for many years, an American Legion Auxiliary member and also served on the library board. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, counter cross stitching, word search and cross word puzzles. She enjoyed bowling and was on different leagues for multiple years. Bernice attended Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy and husband Jon, son, Mike and his wife Leah, son David, daughter-in-law, Marlene; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Donald and his wife Donna Foxhoven of Glendale, Arizona, Dale and Dianne Foxhoven of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Lorraine Hoger, Gladys Handy, Connie and her husband Darrel Stave of Spencer, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Foxhoven of Estherville, Iowa and Carol Foxhoven of Rockford, Illinois; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; husbands, Wilfred and Charles; son, Fred; brothers, Duane, LaVern, Raymond and Harold.
