Billi McDonald Roelofsen, age 60, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at her home in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ashton, Iowa. Father Siby Punnoose officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at St. Patricks Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation will be Friday, August 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Scriptural Wake Service at 6:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Willene Joy "Billi" McDonald Roelofsen was born on July 3, 1959 in Sheldon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Jim and Midge (Warner) McDonald. She lived her youth in Sheldon and graduated from Sheldon Community High School. She married Todd Roelofsen of Sheldon, and from this union they were gifted with a daughter, Brooke. They later divorced. Billi loved to travel and entertain many of her nieces and nephews during summer vacation at her home. She loved to cook, especially for large family gatherings at the lakes. Her smile could light up the room when she visited. She was a baptized member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon. She passed away at her home in Spirit Lake on August 13, 2019. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Brooke Roelofsen of Kansas City, MO and Brooke's sons, Braydon and Oliver; one sister, Deborah (Bruce) Latterell of St. Cloud, MN; 3 brothers, Tim (Sandi) McDonald of Sheldon, IA, Mike (Marlys) McDonald of Conroe, TX, and Matt (Margaret) McDonald of Sheldon, IA; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Midge McDonald; one brother, Brad McDonald; one sister-in-law, Janet Roelofsen; her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Evelyn Warner; her paternal grandparents, Emmett and Bertha McDonald.
