BILLY JOE VOGELAAR
Billy Joe Vogelaar, the son of William G. and Doris M. (Dougherty) Vogelaar, was born October 11, 1965 in Sheldon, Iowa. He attended Sheldon schools and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1984. Billy Joe had worked for Gary Hoekstra for several years as a Brick Tender and for the past six years he has worked for the Northwest Iowa Health Center ~ Senior Care (Oak Park) in the Environmental Service Department. Billy Joe passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2005, at his home in Sheldon, reaching the age of 39 years, 6 months and 24 days.
He enjoyed being with his daughters and also spending time with Rita’s boys. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and he loved the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed music and going out to his dads place to work in the garden. He loved cooking, grilling, being outdoors, and his fishing and birds.
He leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters, Brianna and Shelby Vogelaar both of Ashton, Iowa a step-son, John Merley of Sheldon, IA; his special friend, Rita of Hartley, Iowa; his parents, William G. Vogelaar and Doris M. Vogelaar both of Sheldon, Iowa; his brothers and sisters, Susan and her husband, David Janssen of Sibley, Iowa; Steve and his wife, Abby Vogelaar of Sheldon, Iowa; Sherry Philiph and her special friend, Leon Zembsch of Ashton, Iowa; Rick and his wife, Twyla Vogelaar of Sanborn, Iowa; also nieces and nephews, April and Amber; Jennifer and her husband, Travis; Jason, Jesse, Jeremy, Claude, Steven and Dylan; two great nieces, Stacia and Samantha; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
