ELEANOR “BUFFY” DAVIS

Eleanor “Buffy” Harriet Davis, the daughter of Richard and Anna (VandeBerg) Heimensen, was born January 7, 1916 in Sheldon, Iowa. The family later moved to Detroit, Michigan and then back to the Primghar area. Buffy graduated from Sheldon High School in 1934. On November 1, 1937, she was united in marriage to Donald H. Davis. After their marriage the couple made their home in Primghar. Buffy was employed as a secretary at the Iowa State Extension office for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on July 12, 1973. She continued to make her home in Primghar and worked at the Extension office until retiring in April 1982. She passed away at her home in Primghar on Thursday, August 25, 2005 reaching the age of 89 years, 7 months and 18 days.
She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Primghar, she enjoyed her home and family as well as reading and cooking.
Buffy leaves to cherish her memory her son, Donald Davis Jr. and his wife, Bonnie of Hixson, Tennessee; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, Mark Davis and family; Lynn Lundt and family; Dee Visser and family and Julie Peppenger and family; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, one brother, a step sister and three step brothers.
