GUY W. BESAW
Guy Wesley Besaw, the son of Alvin and Birdie (Mum) Besaw was born October 4, 1931 on a farm near Maple Hill, Iowa. He received his education in a country school. On January 20, 1950, Guy was united in marriage to Viola Marie Staver in Jackson, Minnesota. Together they were blessed with five children: William, Kenneth, Deborah, Brian, and Thomas.
Early in his life, Guy worked as a farm hand and later began driving truck. He traveled all across the country and was a living road map. He could always tell you the fastest route to your destination.
Guy was a member of the United Church of Primghar. His interests were watching westerns, playing cards, and listening to country music. He loved to laugh and tell a great story.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons William (Christina) of Gresham, Oregon, and Brian (Kay) of Estherville, Iowa; five grandchildren, William Jr. (Kim), Sarah (Lorrie), Clinton (Kristi), Adam (Barbara), Edwin; ten great-grandchildren; sisters; Loretta, Marge, Goodie, Joan; extended family and friends.
Guy was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years in April, two sons, Thomas and Kenneth; one daughter, Deborah; four brothers; one sister; and his parents.
