Services for Hallie M. Cobb, age 100, of Sanborn, formerly of Sheldon and Primghar, who passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Prairie View Home in Sanborn. Her service will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.
Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.
Visitation with fellowship will be held after the graveside service at the United Church of Primghar; Primghar, Iowa.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home; Primghar, Iowa.
Hallie M. Cobb
Hallie Marian Cobb was born on February 18, 1917 at a farm home near Carthage, South Dakota to Albert Lee and Sadie (Rowbotham) Cobb. When she was three years old the family moved to a farm ten miles south of De Smit, South Dakota. She attended rural school through the 8th grade then graduated from High School in De Smit in 1934. She went to Normal School in Madison, South Dakota for one year and then taught rural school for four years. The family moved to Iowa in 1938. She taught rural school until she was hired as deputy in the OBrien County Recorders Office. She worked there for 42 years and loved every bit of the time. Hallie passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Prairie View Home in Sanborn, reaching the age of 100 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Hallie was a member of the United Church of Primghar and a 72 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Hallie and her sister, Dorothea spent 14 winters in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She liked to read, do embroidery work, gardening and shopping.
Left to cherish Hallies memory is her sister, Dorothea Cobb of Sanborn, Iowa; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Hallie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Alice Ruth Cobb in infancy.
