HAROLD  C  LANGE 
  
     Harold C Lange, the son of Edward and Martha (Wrede) Lange, was born August 10, 1914 in O’Brien County, Iowa. He attended school in a country school and later at Zion Lutheran School. On May 21, 1938, he was united in marriage to Elsie Larson in Paullina, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed south of Paullina for many years. They retired from farming and moved into Paullina in February of 1975. His wife preceded him in death on January 5, 1997 in Orange City, Iowa. After her passing Harold remained in the family home until moving to the Paullina Care Center in March of 2003. He passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Orange City Hospital reaching the age of 90 years, 4 months and 25 days. 
    He was baptized on August 19, 1914 and later confirmed on May 27, 1928 and was a long time member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, where he had served on the church council and building committee. He was a former director of the Farmers Co-op Elevator in Paullina and of the Land-O-Lakes Board. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and traveling. 
     Harold is survived by his two sons and their wives, Douglas and Wilma Lange of Amherst, New York and Loren and Rosemary Lange of Potomac, Maryland; four grandchildren, Bonnie, Matthew, Katherine and Jeremy; two great-granddaughters, Anna and Sophia; two sisters, Helen Recker of Paullina, Iowa and Marlys Ault of League City, Texas; also nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. 
     He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; a daughter, Sharron Lynn; his parents; twin brothers, Merle and Earl and two sisters, Caroline in infancy and Eleanor Gebert.
