JAMES P. FARRELL
James Patrick Farrell, the son of George and Rose Theresa (Mungovin) Farrell was born on May 15, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. Jim received his GED from the United States Navy while being in the service. He served in the Navy from May of 1958 and was honorably discharged in May of 1964. After he was discharged he trucked for Van Wyk Trucking in Sheldon, Iowa, DMT Trucking in Primghar and later Schuster Trucking in LeMars, Iowa. On May 15, 2004, he was united in marriage to Christa (Miller) Anderson at the Church of Christ in Primghar. Jim passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa reaching the age of 74 years, 6 months and 17 days.
Jim was a member of the Chateau-Thierry Post American Legion in Primghar. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with his grandchildren, visiting with family and friends, watching football, especially the Denver Broncos and traveling with Christa while trucking seeing most of the United States.
Jim is survived by his wife, Christa Farrell of Primghar, Iowa; children, George and his wife, Angie Farrell of Alta, Iowa; Jason and his wife, Kari Farrell of Milford, Iowa; Amanda and her husband, Rick Jansma of Sibley, Iowa; Sandra Farrell; Shawn and his wife, Erin Anderson both of Primghar and David and his fiancé, Candy of Wisconsin; son-in-law, Pat Mason of Everly, Iowa; twenty-three grandchildren, one great grandchild, mother-in-law, Ethel Miller of Hartley, Iowa; two sisters, Dolly Riordan of Massachusetts and Pat Green of South Carolina; one brother, George Farrell of Rhode Island; also nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Shawn Farrell and Kim Mason; grandson, Steven Anderson; brother, Johnny Farrell and brother-in-law, Jack Riordan.
