JANET L. JAN SNEIDERMAN

Janet Jan Lorene Sneiderman, the daughter of Charles George and Carmen Louise (Peer) Loux, was born on March 26, 1953 in Fort Dodge, IA. She was raised in Eagle Grove, IA, and graduated from the Eagle Grove Community High School in 1971. She then attended Iowa State University in Ames, IA, where she lettered in several sports and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in 1975. While at ISU, she was an athletic trainer/student manager of the first U.S. Womens Handball Team. She taught physical education and coached at Sioux Center, IA, from 1975-1982. On July 29, 1978, Jan was united in marriage to Darrell Jay Sneiderman in Sioux Center, IA; the couple made their home in Sheldon, IA. Jan received her Master of Arts degree in Special Education in 1986 from the University of South Dakota and taught 7-12 special education in the Boyden-Hull Community School from 1982-1988. She concluded her career at Sheldon Community School where Jan taught 7-8 special education from 1988-2010 and coached girls golf from 2009-2013.
Jan loved serving the Lord, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, and throughout her years she was involved with several committees, the church council, and other programs. She was a devoted wife and mother; Jan cherished spending time with her family. Some of her fondest memories were of family camping trips, vacations, and other family gatherings. Her grandchildren gave her great joy each and every day. Her many other varied interests included a love for nature, canoeing, golfing, gardening, music, reading, sports, and history. Jan also had a love for learning and teaching. Jan treasured her special friends and always looked forward to spending time with them. She truly knew that her life was blessed beyond measure and always tried to find thankfulness and joy in each day. Jan passed to her heavenly home on August 19, 2015, reaching the age of 62 years, 4 months and 24 days.
Jan leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Darrell; their three children, Jona (John) Fitzsimmons of South Abington Township, PA; Dr. Kirk (Kimberly) Sneiderman of Sheldon; Tony Sneiderman of Waverly, IA; three grandchildren, Kade and Keaton Sneiderman and Madison Fitzsimmons; two brothers, Dr. James (Deborah) Loux of Clear Lake, IA; Steven (Marcia) Loux of Thor, IA; brother-in-law, Calvin Sneiderman of Sheldon; four nieces, Emily (Luke) Hanson, Laura Loux, Sarah Loux, Megan Loux and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Carmen Loux.
