JERRY A. COOPER

Jerry Alan Cooper, the son of Glen and Helen (Caldwell) Cooper was born April 4, 1936 at Hartley, Iowa. He moved with his family from the Ocheyedan area to a farm in the Sutherland area in1951. He finished his schooling in Sutherland graduating from Sutherland High School in 1955. After high school he worked road construction for a couple of years until entering the United States Army in 1957. He served in the Army from 1957 until his discharge in 1959. He returned to the Sutherland area and worked for Dau Construction for several years and then began working for the Farmers Co-op Elevator in Sutherland. He worked at the Elevator until his retirement. He always enjoyed the farm and working with his cows, calves and feeding his many cats. Jerry passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, Iowa reaching the age of 75 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Jerry is survived by his sister-in-law, Karen Cooper of Paullina; nieces and nephews, Deb and Todd Hattermann of Paullina; Mark Cooper of Spencer; Brian and Danette Cooper of Monmouth, Illinois and Brenda Harmdierks of Paullina; great nieces and nephews, Kayla, Kacey, Jarod, Chad, Breanne, Bryce, Danielle, Ryan and Kaitlyn; also other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack.
