JOHN FRED KRAGER

John Fredrick Krager Sr. the son of Lester and Esther (Fredericks) Krager was born on August 17, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up and lived all of his life in Paullina, Iowa. He attended Paullina Community School and graduated in 1954. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Hansen on June 13, 1965. Together they farmed northwest of Paullina and raised five children. He continued to live on the family farm until entering Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 reaching the age of 77 years and 7 months.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina. He enjoyed farming, dancing, polka music, snowmobiling and being an avid gun collector as well as tinkering around the farm.
Fred is survived by his five children, John and his wife, Delaine of Sioux City, Iowa; Julie and her husband, Todd Emehiser of Ankeny, Iowa; Marcie and her husband, Tony Sienknecht of Gladbrook, Iowa; Gina and her husband, Patrick Paulsen of Paullina, Iowa and Joni and her husband, Eric Irwin of Primghar, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren, Devon and Jessica Krager; Blake, Bryce and Brooke Emehiser; Tessa, Luke and Abby Sienknecht; Taylor, Kyle and Derek Paulsen; Victor, Hunter and Lauren Irwin; also other relatives and friends. Fred is also survived by Marilyn, a positive influence his whole life and until his last day.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane.
