JUDITH A. PHIPPS

Judith A. McGinty was born on February 8, 1942 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Gerald and Wanda (Shannon) McGinty. Her father passed away when she was 3 years old. Her mother married Johnnie Arrick in 1948 and to this union were born Harry, Edward and Cheryl. Judy graduated from Primghar High School in 1960. After high school she moved to Omaha, NE where she met and married David L. Droullard in 1963. To this union were born, David F. Droullard and Tina M. Droullard. In 1977, Judy married Henry Phipps and added 3 step children: Robert, Alan and Pamela Phipps. The family lived in Cherokee, Iowa where Judy was a long time employee of Cherokee Mental Health. After Hanks retirement they moved to Primghar where Judy was employed at Bob & Scotts grocery store and Moms caf. In 2014, Judy and Hank adopted their granddaughter, Emma.
Judy was an active member of the Primghar Church of Christ and several other organizations in the community. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family, classmates and friends. Judy also had a special relationship with her Grandma Shannon, her Aunt Lovey and with her God.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Phipps; son, David Droullard; Step Children: Robert Phipps, Alan Phipps and Pam Bezoni and their families. Granddaughters, Jessica Jacobsen (and special friend, Richard) and Emma Phipps; brother, Harry (Connie) Arrick; sister-in-law, Marilyn Joines; brother-in-law, Michael Wilbur; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Edward and Cheryl and daughter, Tina.
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall
not want. He maketh me to lie
down in green pastures; He leadeth
me beside still waters. He
restoreth my soul; He leadeth me
in the paths of righteousness for
His names sake.
Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil; for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort
me; Thou preparest a table before
me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou anointest my head with oil,
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.
