Kathy Ann Noble, the daughter of Victor Lee and Elsie Helen (Schmidt) Scholten was born March 25, 1951 in Sheldon. Growing up she attended Sheldon Community Schools and St. Paul Lutheran Church. She graduated from high school in 1969. She majored in art education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa and received her degree in 1973. Kathy moved to Des Moines, IA, where she worked at Younkers, taught at a day care and was employed at Boesen the Florist for 13 years. In 1991, Kathy and T.J. returned to Sheldon. For 15 years she worked at the Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and her friends there. Throughout her life she was active in church work. At St. Paul Lutheran in Sheldon she served as a Sunday School and Logos teacher, on the church council, as a member of Priscilla Circle, the worship and arts committee, stewardship committee and Senior Choir. Kathy had been an American Legion Auxiliary member for 32 years. She especially enjoyed creating artwork, traveling, being with her family during the holidays and at Lake Okoboji and spending treasured time with her son, nieces and nephews.

Mother

You were so good to me as I was growing up,
the special days we had, I remember them all very well.

Your love kept me warm and secure, I could
always trust you with my most inner thoughts.

I wish it was possible to tell you how much you mean to me
and how much I love you just for being who you are.

I’m so lucky to have you for my mother, and hope I can be
as good to you as you have been to me.
Mother, I love you so much!
