Keith Willard Verburg was born on July 21, 1937 in Rock Valley, Iowa. He was the son of William and Gertrude (Tensen) Verburg. He lived his youth in Hospers and Archer, Iowa where he attended school and graduated from Archer High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Waverly, Iowa for one year. He was united in marriage to Barbara Fitzpatrick of Waverly, Iowa on October 17, 1960 in Waverly. They moved to Greenland and then to Oxnard, California where Keith served in the Air Force and worked with electronics. After being honorably discharged from the service they moved to rural Ritter, Iowa where they farmed for one year and then moved to the home place on Nettle Avenue in rural Hospers, Iowa where they farmed for over 50 years. Keith and Barb were always together working and enjoying life. Keith enjoyed spending time on the computer. He also enjoyed people, conversation and bowling. He passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his home in rural Hospers, Iowa. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 59 years, Barbara Verburg of Hospers, IA; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Verburg and John Backlund; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arvin and Karen Verburg, Gary and Angelyn Verburg; one sister, Beverly Carr. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Phyllis Verburg; and one brother-in-law, Don Carr. There will be no services.
