LAVONNE (BONNIE) ADMIRE

Bonnie Admire, daughter of Bill and Grace (Uittenbogaard) Kreykes was born February 13, 1935 in Sheldon, Iowa. She received her education in Public School in Sanborn, Iowa. On March 19, 1955 she married Dick Admire of Cherokee, Iowa. After service in the Air Force, they settled in Primghar. Dick passed away on February 19, 1993. Bonnie worked as postal clerk at the Primghar Post Office for 23 years, retiring in October of 1992. She loved to travel, golf, play cards, read, watch movies, have coffee with friends, and most of all spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the American Reformed Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School, Bible School, and helping with the Kids Club After-School Program. She enjoyed volunteering for Kids Kampus Day Care, playing Bingo with the Care Center residence, and helping with the Exercise Program at the Community Building.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rick and his wife, Becky Admire of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; Dawn and her husband, Terry Simm of Sibley, Iowa; Lisa Sauer of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Mark and his wife, Janine Admire of Abilene, Texas; eleven grandchildren: Katie, Molly, and Ryan Admire; Sara Simm and her husband, Jake Bartholomew, Scott Simm and his wife, Bethany, Samantha Simm; Andrew Sauer and his wife, Lindsey, Bill Sauer and his fiancé, Dominique Fertinel, Jay Sauer; Nicole Admire-Ragsdale and Mark Admire; four great-grandchildren: Izaiah, Xavier, Makenzie and Brielle. She is also survived by a brother, Bill Kreykes and his wife, Jean of Eastham, Massachusetts; three sisters, Arlene and her husband, Mike Rota of Seal Beach. Ca; Edna Winkel of Sioux City, Iowa; Betty and her husband, Jim Crosby of Apache Junction, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Ida Kreykes of Sanborn, Iowa and Masel Dillie of Moville, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Mitch Vander Tuig of Primghar and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; a grandson, Justin Sauer; her parents, a sister, Matilda Vander Tuig; two brothers, Arnold and Harold and two brothers-in-law, Bud Wilch and Harold Winkel.
