LORNA R. LAGOO
Lorna Rhea Lagoo, a lifelong resident of Sheldon, Iowa passed away peacefully on March 6, 2015 at the Sanford Sheldon Senior Care Center in Sheldon following a long illness. She had reached the age of 79 years, 9 months and 13 days.
Lorna was born May 21, 1935 to William Harold and Ada Virginia (Youngdahl) Pangborn of Lake City, Iowa and they moved to Sheldon, Iowa when she was an infant. Lorna attended school in Sheldon and was a 1953 graduate of Sheldon High School. Lorna was united in marriage to David Arthur Lagoo on June 2, 1959 in Sheldon, Iowa and the young couple made their home in Sheldon She considered herself first as a homemaker; she also held jobs with the local telephone company, Sheldon Green House and Nursery, KIWA Radio and the Dcor Center.
Lorna was a member of the Church of Christ formerly in Sheldon, Iowa and in Worthington, MN. She was a kind, gentle woman involved in her church, loved reading, cooking, gardening, flowers, sewing, camping and most of all caring for her loving family.
Lorna is survived by her husband of 56 years, David of Sheldon; a daughter, Joy Lagoo of Old Greenwich, CT; a sister, Eleanor McDuffy of Des Moines, IA; and a brother, Paul and Mitzi Petitt of Gillette, WY; a brother-in-law, Steve Culver of Hays, KS; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Mark; her parents, a brother, William; and a sister Eva Culver.
