LUCY WIBBEN
Lucy Wibben, the daughter of Steve and Hattie (Stapert) Siebersma, was born August 8, 1917 in Orange City, Iowa. She received her education in country schools near Sheldon, Iowa. On December 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to George E. Wibben in Dakota City, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Sheldon most of their married lives except for a few years in Illinois. Her husband preceded her in death on February 22, 1996 in Sheldon. Lucy continued to make her home in Sheldon until entering the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa in April of 2008. She passed away at Prairie View on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 reaching the age of 91 years, 1 month and 16 days.
She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 152 of Sutherland, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with her family and eating out.
Lucy leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Bonnie and her husband, David De Kruif of Sheldon; two grandchildren, Jim and his wife, Elizabeth De Kruif of Johnston, Iowa and Jodi De Kruif and her special friend, Jerry Hofmeyer of Sheldon; three great-grandsons, Joshua, Noah and Nicholas De Kruif; one sister, Loretta Petersen of Sibley, Iowa and one brother and his wife, Steven and Fern Siebersma of Milford, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Joan Siebersma of Ankeny, Iowa; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, two brothers, Julius and Cornie Siebersma and two sisters, Jennie Vanden Berg and Geraldine Borgman.
