MARCELLA W. CARL
Marcella Wilma Carl, the daughter of Ernest Carl and Cena Fredericka (Nanninga) Vander Hamm, was born November 15, 1920 on the family farm in near Ireton, Iowa, where she attended school. After school she enjoyed helping her mother in the kitchen and always enjoyed cooking. She was united in marriage to Richard George Carl on October 10, 1940 in St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Sheldon, Iowa. The young couple made their home in Sheldon, where Marcella helped her husband and was a homemaker. Dick preceded her in death on October 22, 1993 in Sioux City, Iowa; Marcella remained in her home until moving into the Prairie View Home in Sanborn, Iowa in 1995. Marcella passed away at Prairie View Nursing Home on Monday, June 29, 2015reaching the age of 94 years, 7 months and 14 days.
Marcella was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. She enjoyed fishing and going to Lake Okoboji, Square Dancing, making party favors for birthday parties at the nursing home and various crafts, sewing, knitting, embroidering, needlepoint, working with canvas and other crafts.
Marcella is survived by her nieces and nephews; her very special friend, Jolene and her husband, Harold Eichmann of Sheldon and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her parents and 4 sisters, Maxine Boom, Neva Jean Brunk, Luella Schultz and Lela Molmen.
