NEVA M. OHME
Neva M. Ohme, the daughter of Myers and Emma (Tesch) Lund was born March 31, 1925 near Marcus, Iowa. She received her education in a country school. On December 15, 1944, she was united in marriage to Norman Ohme at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Paullina. After their marriage the couple settled on a farm east of Paullina. The couple farmed for many years before retiring in 1996 and moving to Paullina. Norman preceded her in death on November 10, 2002 in Paullina. Neva continued to make her home in Paullina until November 2009. She then moved to Bethany Meadows in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to be near her daughter, Anita and family. She passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Bethany Lutheran Nursing Home in Sioux Falls, reaching the age of 86 years, 1 month and 17 days.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina.
Neva is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Anita and David Bratten of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Sheryl and Bruce Bachman of Loveland, Colorado; one son and his wife, Marvin and Monna Ohme of Rockford, Illinois; six grandchildren, Erik and Daniel Bratten of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Shannon Klawiter and her husband, Brian of Duluth, Minnesota; Kevin Bachman and his wife, Erin of Milliken, Colorado; Brian Ohme and his wife, Laura of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kristin McClenthen and her husband, Ryan of Rockford, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Madison; daughter of Kristin and Ryan McClenthen and Annaliese; daughter of Kevin and Erin Bachman; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her parents, one brother, Ray Lund; one sister, Grace Fjeld; and two step sisters, Edna Pauling and Florence Hoger.
