Preston Wayne Havlik, 52 of Peoria, IL., formerly of Sutherland, died Sunday, Nov. 6th, 2011 in Peoria, IL.
The body was cremated and a private burial will be held on Sept. 8th in Sutherland.
Services are provided by Eldridge Family Funeral Home of Paullina, Iowa.
Preston was born on Sept. 3, 1959, in Storm Lake, IA, the son of Stanley and Mary Jane (Streit) Havlik. He graduated from Sutherland High School in 1978. He entered the Air Force later that year serving in Alaska, England and Greece which gave him the adventure to see the world. After retiring from the Air Force in 1986 he made his home in CO, CA, AZ, and IN before settling in Illinois.
Preston was a truck driver during most of the years after leaving the military. He enjoyed watching the Colts, Titans and Nascar racing following Kevin Harvick’s No. 29.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Bjork of North Liberty, IA; 2 brothers, Michael (Sujie) Havlik of Corona, CA., and Kimberly (Karen) Havlik of Sanborn, IA.; a sister, Theresa (Greg) Boyd of Sioux City, IA. and several nieces and nephews. Preston also leaves behind many people who got to know and love him like family. For that he will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister in infancy.
