Randy Brinkman

Randy Brinkman, age 70, of Milford, Iowa, formerly of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Avera McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Pastor Craig Nissen officiating. Cremation to follow funeral services. Visitation will be Friday, June 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service. Randall "Randy" Brinkman was born on April 26, 1947 in Orange City, Iowa. He was the son of Roy and Edna (Oolbekkink) Brinkman. He lived his youth in Sheldon, Iowa where he attended school and graduated from Sheldon High School. Randy served in the United State Army in Vietnam in the heavy artillery division and was honorably discharged. He attended NITC in Sheldon and graduated with a Power Lineman degree. He was united in marriage to Lois Feyerabend of Sheldon, Iowa on March 1, 1969 in Sheldon. They lived in Huxley, Iowa, where Randy was a power lineman. In 1972, they moved to Sheldon. Randy was employed at Sheldon Highway Nursery working for his father-in-law, Lawrence Feyerabend. In 1988, Randy and Lois purchased the business. In 1994, they moved to Milford, Iowa. Lois passed away in 2004. Randy continued to own and operate the business and plow snow in the winter until he retired in 2012. After retiring from the business he drove truck for State Line Coop. When Lois was living, they enjoyed flowers, plants, birds and boating together. Randy enjoyed hunting with family and friends and later taking the grandchildren boating. Randy passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Avera McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Robert Brinkman of Sioux City, IA, Raymond (Peggy) Brinkman of Sheldon, IA, Amanda (Mike) McDonald of Boyden, IA and Robert Hall of Sheldon, IA; 6 grandchildren; one brother, Ryan (Pam) Brinkman of Sioux Falls, SD and one sister, Rona (Terry) Wimmer of Broomfield, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Brinkman; infant granddaughter, Catherine Jean Brinkman; his parents and one brother, Robert Brinkman.
