REBECCA LYNN HANNON
Rebecca Lynn Hannon, the daughter of S. Harold Traughber and Fern E. (Banning) Traughber was born March 20, 1945 in Spencer, Iowa. She was raised in the First Christian Church in Spencer, being baptized there in 1957. Becky received her early education in the Spencer Community School system, graduating from Spencer High School in 1963. She then went on to attend Larson's School of Hairstyling in Spencer. After cosmetology school, Becky worked for a brief period in a hair salon in Emmetsburg, Iowa. In her spare time, Becky enjoyed watching movies on television, working on craft projects and helping her family and friends in any way necessary. In recent years Becky lived at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, and recently moved to Country View Manor in Sibley, where she passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 reaching the age of 69 years, 5 months and 20 days.
Left to cherish her memory are her partner of more than 30 years, Gary Gilchrist of Sheldon, Iowa; two sons, Jim (Amy) Lewis, and Allen Lewis, both of Emmetsburg, Iowa; three grandchildren; Tanner, Marshall and Somer Lewis of Emmetsburg, Iowa; one brother, Tom (Kathy) Traughber of Sheldon, Iowa; seven nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Fern Traughber; her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jim McMichael; and both sets of grandparents.
