REED W. POWERS

Reed W. Powers, the son of Malcolm and Dorothy Powers, was born on August 28, 1949 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended the University of South Dakota for four years. Married Cheryl J. Powers
Reed passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at St. Luke's Unity Pointin Sioux City, Iowa following surgery that was complicated by a lung disease that was caused by polio when he was three years old.
Reed was a lifelong-citizen of Paullina and member of the Oakdale Evangelical Free Church. His great love was of the family farm. Even as he attended the University of South Dakota for four years he was home on the farm most weekends.
Reed is survived by wife, Cheryl J. Powers of Paullina, Iowa; a sister, Deb Powers; a sister-in-law, Shirley Powers; nieces and nephews, Tosten Langholz, Autumn Langholz, Ashlee Langholz and her husband, Dr. Trevor Davis, Leigh Powers and her daughter, Ainsley, Reese and step-daughters, Beth Lanphier (Tom) and Kate Keeler; two step-granddaughters, Chelsea Swaim and Lexi Randolph and her two daughters, Reilly and Reagan, all of whom will miss him and remember him with love and affection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Malcolm Powers; his grandparents, Amos and Signe Lindstrom; a brother, Rand Powers; brother-in-law, Doug Surat; stepdaughter, Samantha Pridham; infant nephew, Brett Powers.
He was devoted to his family and a wonderful friend to many.
