RICK L. FRANK
Rick L. Frank, son of Richard and Betty Barlow Frank, was born on September 15, 1953 in Schaller, Iowa. His early years were spent in Galva, Iowa until the family relocated to Schaller. Rick received his schooling there, graduating from Schaller High School in 1972.

During a snowstorm on March 3, 1979, Rick married Rona Ackermann. The couple resided in Lakefield until moving to Germantown, Iowa in August of 1982. They joined St. John Lutheran Church and became active in the congregation. Rick performed a variety of tasks from holding the role of president of the congregation to recording audio cassettes of the services. Rick and Rona also supported Zion St. John Lutheran School and watched their childrens many activities.

Rick had many hobbies. He enjoyed farm life, raising animals, and growing plants on the Germantown acreage. Rick loved gardening and was eager to share his knack for growing plants with others. He was a great cook and prepared many delicious meals. Rick also liked to fish and enjoyed taking fishing trips with family and friends.

No matter where Rick went, he seemed to know someone. Even at a young age, Rick spent time with people. His trike could often be found parked outside the local pub in Galva. Inside he would enjoy pop and candy with the old guys. When he arrived in Germantown, Rick joined the fire department and spent many hours with his fellow crew members. Rick worked for Consumers Supply, Inc. in Storm Lake for many years and got to know many people in the feed business. This circle of people grew when Rick switched to the insurance business. Ricks knowledge and caring attitude was extended to many clients.

Rick passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center. He was 62 years old. He is survived by his wife, Rona of Paullina, IA; his children, Stacy Ackermann of Brewster, MN; Becky Streiff of Lakefield, MN; Camille (Kent) De Zeeuw of Sheldon, IA and Ross (Danielle) Frank of Ankeny, IA; granddaughters, Lillian and Violet De Zeeuw, brothers, Roger Frank of Ida Grove, IA and Larry Frank of Schaller, IA; his sister, Linda (Russ) Hinkeldey of Galva, IA; mother-in-law, Joy Hohenstein of Lakefield, MN, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, father-in-law Marvin Hohenstein, and sister-in-law Sandra Frank.

Gods Garden

God looked around His garden
and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this
earth, and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered, Peace be thine.
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you didnt go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
