Services for Bob Pekelder, age 92, of Sheldon who passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Heartland Care Center in Marcus. A private family service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Andringa Funeral Home – Sheldon.
Private family burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation open to the public with family not present will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Andringa Funeral Home – Sheldon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Orange City Home Health and Hospice.
Arrangements are under the care of the Andringa Funeral Home – Sheldon.

Robert (Bob) Lloyd Pekelder was born August 9, 1927 in Sheldon, IA. to Bert and Kate (Wientjes) Pekelder on the family farm. Bob attend country school near his rural home.
On September 11, 1952 Robert was united in marriage to Bette (Elizabeth) Bosma in Hospers, Iowa. They spent their married life living on the Pekelder family farm. Bob and Bette moved to the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon, Iowa in 2015.
Bob was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Bob loved working with his Belgian horses in the field and going to parades. They spent 20 years wintering in Almo,Texas.
Bob passed away on June 12, 2020 at the age of 92 years and 10 months at the Heartland nursing home in Marcus, Iowa.
Bob is survived by his wife Bette of 67 years of Sheldon. Daughter Bonnie (Byke) Van Donge of Sioux Center, IA. Their children and grandchildren, Benj (Rhonda) Van Donge, Micah, Jamin, Eli, and Isaac of Sioux Center, Ia. Ryan (Kari) Van Donge, Carter, Mya, and Trey of Sioux Falls, SD. Eric (Jamelee) Van Donge and Hudson, Lincoln and Beau of Sioux Falls, SD. Daughter Mary Beth (Jerry) Reed of LeMars, IA. Their children and grandchildren Rebecca Reed of Chicago, Il. Cinda (Jim) Krause of Moville, IA and their children Kasen and Jacob. Son Bryan (Bobbi) of Hospers, IA and their children Brandon of Bellvue, NE, Brent of Sheldon and Blair of Sioux Falls, SD
His sisters-in-law, Betty Pekelder of Missouri, Lorraine Muilenburg, and Sophia LeMasurier and brother-in-law Joe (Mary) Bosma.
He was preceded in death by his son Robert Jr in 2012, his parents, 2 sisters Aletha Jacobsma and June DeHoogh and 3 brothers, Clarence, Rosco and Donald. His parents- in-law, 7 sisters-in-law and 3 brother in-laws and their spouses.
