“Father Bob”
Robert “Bob” Leroy Wilkinson, the son of Leroy F. and Loretta Jean (Siebersma) Wilkinson, was born March 14, 1954 in Sheldon, Iowa, where he received his education. Bob was united in marriage to Glenna Rae Hoekstra on October 5, 1974 in Sheldon, Iowa. Bob served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and after his discharge from the service he returned to Sheldon and worked construction. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. After college he worked in retail management, and was the store manager for Wal-Mart for 9 years. For the last year and a half he was the store manager at Savers in Rochester, Minnesota. Bob passed away on Friday, January 8, 2010 at his residence in Stockton, Minnesota, reaching the age of 55 years, 9 months and 25 days.
He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, football, spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenna of Stockton, Minnesota; and their three children, Adam Wilkinson of Stockton, Minnesota; Amy and her husband, Josh Kramer of Monticello, Minnesota and Dawn Wilkinson and her friend, Nick Wischnack of Monticello, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Kodi Schroeder, Bailey, Jorden and Tylor Wilkinson and Tessa Waits; his mother, Loretta Jean Petersen of Sibley, Iowa; a brother Larry and his wife, Gloria Wilkinson of Waconia, Minnesota; two sisters, and their spouses, Debra and Bill Collingwood of Peterson, Iowa and Robin and Lance Juarez of Arlington, Nebraska; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy F. Wilkinson and his step-father, Jack Petersen and several aunts and uncles.
