SHARON F. HEITRITTER

Sharon Faye Heitritter, daughter of Alfred and Rose (Veenker) Meester was born March 31, 1941 in George, IA. She graduated from George Community School in 1959. She often shared memories of playing basketball in the state tournament, participating in speech contests, and enjoying time with classmates and friends.
On December 26, 1959, she was united in marriage to Laryl (Joe) Heitritter. The couple farmed near Boyden where they raised three sons. She attended Northwestern College for 2½ years when her children were small. Later when Joel went to college she took a position with The Travel Advantage enjoying the relationships she made with her colleagues and clients. She loved traveling, reading, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with friends, and Sunday afternoons playing pinochle with her family.
After Joe’s passing in 1998, Sharon moved to her current home in Boyden. Surrounded by family, she passed away of multiple myeloma on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 at Aspen Heights assisted living center in Hull, where she lived for four months. She reached the age of 72 years, 5 months and 1 day. Sharon was a member of First Reformed Church in Boyden. She enjoyed church and community activities such as serving as a Boyden-Hull community school board member, Boyden library board member and Sioux County Cancer Society member.
Sharon is survived by three sons and their wives, Steve and Laura of Boyden, Keith and April of Spirit Lake and Joel and Connie of Hull, her twelve grandchildren, Paul, Joe and his wife Kendra, Emma, Thomas, Shega, Megan, Jake, Ben, Olivia, Jonathan, Justin and Joshua, and one great-grandchild, Lucy.
Survivors also include her brother Stan and his wife, Lovelle of Punta Gorda, FL., her sister Barbara Johnson of Akron, IA, two brothers-in-law and their wives, Ron and Lynn Heitritter of Seattle, WA and Merwin (Feets) and Karen Heitritter of Boyden, IA, several cherished nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Patricia.
