TIMOTHY E. McQUEEN
Timothy Eugene McQueen, the son of Boyd and Judy (Dennis) McQueen, was born June 15, 1966 in Sheldon, Iowa. Tim was baptized and confirmed from Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar, Iowa. He attended school in Sheldon and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1984. After high school Tim started farming with his dad in the Primghar and Archer area. In 1993, he also started working at Sheldon Livestock. On July 13, 1996, Tim was united in marriage to Dolly Johnson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. Tim and Dolly made their home in Sheldon and they were blessed with two children: Dalton and Mallory. Tim was still active in farming when he passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa reaching the age of 44 years, 10 months and 12 days.
Tim was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, serving on the Youth and Social Committees, the Noah’s Ark Pre-School Board and was the past Church Council President. He was also a member of the Sheldon Eagles Club and the Sheldon Orab Athletic Boosters. He enjoyed fishing “Up North”, watching his kids sporting events, family game and movie night, playing cards, especially Texas Hold’em with his buddies. He also enjoyed his family vacations to the Black Hills, watching the History and Western channels with his kids and had a talent with grilling and cooking. He was a fan of the K.C. Royals, Vikings, Hawkeyes, enjoyed competing in fantasy sport leagues and hosting his Annual Bowl Day gathering. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and notorious “one liners.”
Tim is survived by his wife, Dolly; and their two children, Dalton and Mallory both at home; his parents, Boyd and Judy McQueen of Archer, Iowa; his in-laws, Merlyn and Judy Johnson of Ashton, Iowa; and five brothers-in law and four sisters-in law, Colleen and Corey Ackerman, Donna and Bob Shirbroun, Jerry and Stacy Johnson, Dan “Buck” Johnson, Kevin and Jennifer Johnson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Alma McQueen and Jess and Edwina Dennis.
Dads Poem
You never said “I’m leaving”
You never said “goodbye”
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why.
There are no words to tell you
Just what I feel inside
The shock, the hurt, the anger
Might gradually subside
A million times I’ll need you
A million times I’ll cry
I f Love alone could have saved you
You never would have died
In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you
But you didn’t go alone
For part of me went with you
The day God took you home
Things will never be the same
And all though it hurts so bad
I will smile whenever I hear you name
And be proud you were my Dad.
