William “Bill” A. Edwards, the son of Clay and Eloise (McCauley) Edwards was born April 25, 1940 in Primghar, Iowa. He attended Primghar schools, graduating from Primghar High School in 1958. He went on to attend Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa for two years. On September 1, 1961, he was united in marriage to Jean Wilson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple settled in Primghar where Bill was employed at the Nicholson & Edwards Grain Elevator. After the death of his father in 1972, he took over the operation of the Grain Company and operated it until his death. He passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at his home in Primghar, reaching the age of 65 years, 2 months and 18 days.
He was a member of the United Church of Primghar, the Rising Star Masonic Lodge # 496, the Abu Bekr Shrine in Sioux City; he was a charter member of the Primghar Golf and Country Club and was a member of the TCA Board of Directors, the Primghar Chamber of Commerce. He had served as a member of the Primghar Fire Department and for over 20 years he was on the Primghar City Council. He enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings games, fishing, golfing, hiking in California with his wife, snowmobiling, and collecting Beanie Babies. His family was very important to him, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jean of Primghar; three sons, their wives and their families, Kurt and Marilee Edwards and their son, Derek; Jim and Loretta Edwards and their children, Traci, Ashli and Bryce; Tom and Jody Edwards and their children, Mitchell, Matthew and Brooklyn all from Primghar; also other relatives and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
