Anna Verburg, age 100, of Sheldon, Iowa who passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Fieldcrest Assisted Living Memory Care in Sheldon. Her funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 7, 2020 at First Reformed Church in Sheldon with Rev. Paul Van Maaren ~ officiating.
Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation with family present will be from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 7, 2020 at First Reformed Church.
The Service will be live-streamed on Sheldonfirstreformed.com/worshipservices.cfm
Family request that Memorials be directed to LOVE Inc
Masks will be required for both the visitation and the service.
Social distancing guidelines will be followed as well.

ANNA VERBURG
Anna Verburg, the daughter of Edward C. and Francena (Van Duyn) De Bruin was born on September 22, 1920 in Rock Valley, Iowa. She attended elementary school in Orange City and Sibley, Iowa and graduating from Rock Valley High School. Anna was united in marriage to Henry Verburg on February 24, 1939 in Rock Valley, Iowa. They farmed near Rock Valley until 1943, then moved to a farm south of Sheldon, where they lived until 1973 when they retired and moved into Sheldon. In 2006, they moved into the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. Henry preceded her in death on May 6, 2010. Anna remained there until moving into the Fieldcrest Assisted Living in 2018. Anna passed away there on Thursday, December 3, 2020, reaching the age of 100 years, 2 months and 11 days.
Anna was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheldon. She was active in Church Guild and Circles, the Carroll Craft Club and the Christian Retirement Home Auxiliary, also serving as a volunteer at Oak Park Nursing Home in Sheldon. She was a homemaker, enjoyed her Family and Friends, reading, crocheting, crewel embroidering, working crossword puzzles.
Left to cherish Anna’s memory are her children, Joyce (Orville) De Boer of Little Rock, Iowa; Edwin (Bonnie) Verburg of Sheldon, IA; Francene (Dan) Dykstra of Hospers, Iowa; Bradley (Diana) Verburg of Sheldon, IA; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grand-children, and other relatives and friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a grandson-in-law, Dan Raymond; her parents, a brother, Neal (Shirley) De Bruin; a sister, Wilma (William) Boverhof; a brother-in-law, Richard (Marian) Verburg and 2 sisters-in-law, Nellie (William) Van Wyhe and Marie (Albert) Vink.
