Anne Witt, age 95, of Marcus, formerly of Paullina passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa with Rev. Donald Meyer ~ Officiating.
A Family graveside service will be at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in the Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, Iowa
Anneliese Witt, the daughter of Johann and Elizabeth (Bauer) Schäefer was born on December 28, 1925, in Bad Godesberg, Germany. She was united in marriage to Raymond Witt on May 20, 1948, in Bonn, Germany. After their marriage the couple made their home in the Paullina and Granville area since 1948. Anne was a beautician for many years. Raymond preceded Anne in death on January 21, 1994. Anne remained in Paullina until moving to Marcus in 2018 and subsequently to Heartland Care Center in November 2020. Anne passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, reaching the age of 95 years, 8 months, and 4 days.
Anne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina and Dorcas.
Left to cherish Anne’s memory are her two daughters, Elleonore Witt of Marcus and Rita and her husband Patrick Shea of Bloomfield, New York; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Savanah) Shea, and Jennifer (Clint) Van Dewark; three great grandchildren, Taylor and Cody Van DeWark and Connor Brayfield; also, other relatives and friends.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Elizabeth Schäefer, her husband, Raymond and her two brothers, Albert and Ferdi Schäefer.
