Berdella H. Schueller, the daughter of Anton and Anne (Pick) Pottebaum was born on January 9, 1926. She attended country school and later received her GED. On January 2, 1945 Berdella was united in marriage to Herbert Schueller in Alton, Iowa. After their marriage the couple moved to the Schueller family farm. The couple farmed and raised their 6 children. On Thursday, July 19, 2018 Berdella passed away on the family farm reaching the age of 92 years, 6 months and 10 days.
Berdella was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, baking which she was famous for her cinnamon rolls. She also loved to crochet, making afghans for each grandchild for their graduation.
Berdella is survived by her husband of 73 years, Herbert of Primghar; six children, Pauleen and Ambrose Peitzmeier of West Point, Nebraska, Pat and Don Enger of Sanborn, Iowa, Ron and Dian Schueller, Paul Schueller and Linda Wagenaar of Primghar, Jerry and Deb Schueller and Glen Schueller all of Primghar; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Ivan and Claire Pottebaum, Ike and Carol Pottebaum, Arlan and Marlene Pottebaum, Mary Ann and Art Walker and Orville and Mary Ann Pottebaum; sisters-in-law, Doris Pottebaum and Jan Strouth; also many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Berdella was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Jennifer Enger, Nancy (Peitzmeier) Rase and Amy Peitzmeier; great granddaughter, Madison Duhsmann; siblings, Tarsella and Milo Probst, Bernice and Ambrose Block, Florence and Ray Thole, Howard Pottebaum, Eugene Pottebaum, Anthony Pottebaum and Donna Rae Krogman.
