James Wm. “Bill” McPeek, age 61, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon with Fr. Siby Punnoose ~ officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa.

Visitation with family present will be on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sheldon from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.

The family requests that everyone observes the social distancing guidelines and Masks are required during the visitation and the service at the church with limited seating available for the church service.

Arrangements are under the care of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

James Wm. “Bill” McPeek Jr., the son of James Wm. Sr and Gladys (DeRoos) McPeek was born on September 22, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended St. Patrick Catholic School in Sheldon, Iowa until the 8th grade, then went on to attend Sheldon High School graduating in 1977. Bill was united in marriage to Vickie Marie Johnson on May 19, 1979 in Sheldon, Iowa, they made their home in Sheldon. Bill was a welder, fabricator, and a machinist, he had worked for Rozenboom Machine & Tool in Sheldon and DEMCO Manufactory in Boyden. Bill fought a courageous battle with cancer for 13 years, he passed away at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota reaching the age of 61 years, 11 months and 19 days.
Bill loved camping, the outdoors, fishing and especially his son’s and grandchildren. Family was especially important to him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Vickie; 3 children, Michael (Erika) Addengast of Sutherland, Iowa; Joshua (Aimee) McPeek of Sheldon, Iowa and Aaron McPeek of Calumet, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Olivia, Lylah, Taylor, Violet, Baine, Michael, Christopher, Jeremy, Hunter and McKenzi; his mother, Gladys Brinkman of Sheldon, Iowa; other extended family members, his special friends, Jim Vander Ploeg and Kelly Jongerius; and other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, James Wm. McPeek Sr. and his stepfather, Robert Brinkman.
