Services will be held at a later date.

Cynthia A. Baxter

Cynthia “Cindy” Anne Baxter the daughter of Lynn and Loretta (Harris) Cooper was born February 26, 1934 in Spencer, Iowa. In 1945 the family moved to Everly, Iowa where she graduated from Everly High School in 1953. She later moved to Sioux City, Iowa and went to Beauty School and later became an instructor at the school. In 1965 she moved to Primghar, Iowa and opened her own beauty shop. She met and married Bob Baxter on July 13, 1968 at the First Christian Church in Spencer, Iowa. After their marriage the couple settled on the Baxter family farm near Archer, Iowa where they farmed for many years. Cindy moved her beauty shop to the farm which she operated and helped Bob farm. She also raised her step-son Kevin who she later adopted. In 1992 the couple moved into Primghar to make their home. Her husband Bob preceded her in death on October 20, 2011 in Sioux City. Cindy remained in the family home until she had health issues and moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn. She passed away there on Sunday December 7, 2025 reaching the age of 91 years 9 months and 11 days.

Cindy enjoyed spending time with her family, their cottage at Spirit Lake and golfing.

She is survived by her son Kevin and his wife Lisa Granstra Baxter, her grandson Jackson and his finance’ Annika Cappis all of Bennett, Iowa, also other relatives and many friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
