Funeral services for Cynthia R. Klatt, age 78 of Sheldon who passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon with Pastor Christopher Martin, officiating.

Burial will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 P.M. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.
Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

After today’s graveside service, relatives and friends are invited to join the family in the fellowship hall of the church.
Cynthia Rae Klatt, the daughter of Ray and Jean (Schultheis) Lenox, was born on April 20, 1947, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1965. Cynthia was united in marriage to Dennis Klatt on January 21, 1967, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. After Denny’s honorable discharge from the military, they made their home in Sheldon. To this union two sons were born, Jason and Craig. Cynthia stayed at home with the boys through high school. She then began working at Maintainer until 1993 when she then began working at NCC as s secretary in the continuing ed department, retiring in 2009.
Cynthia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. Cynthia and Denny enjoyed wintering in Gulf Shores, Alabama for twenty-eight years. She loved going to her grandchildren’s events, as she never missed one.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Denny; two sons and their spouses, Jason and Chelley Klatt of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Craig and Kelly Klatt of Sheldon; five grandchildren, Samantha (Mitchell) McDonald of Sheldon, Connor (Maycee) Klatt of Primghar, Koby (Abby Vanden Bosch) of Sheldon, Abbie Klatt of Denver, Colorado and Annie (Nick Baines) Klatt of Grimes, Iowa; two great grandsons, Axton and Bryer; two sisters, Kris Meyer of Sheldon and Kelly Van Riesen of Garland, Texas; also nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Jean Lenox and two brothers-in-law, Jerry Meyer and Dean Van Riesen.
