Daniel D. Ohrt, 36, of Primghar, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Orange City Area Health. His funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Sutherland Church of Christ with Pastor John Erickson, officiating.

Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.

Visitation will be after 4 P.M. on Monday, July 13, 2026, with family present from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for an education fund for Daxton and Dayleigh.

DANIEL D. OHRT

Daniel D. Ohrt, the son of Ramo and Shane (Mulder) Ohrt was born on December 13, 1989, in Primghar, Iowa he attended South O’Brien Schools and graduated from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School in 2008. On August 9, 2014, he was united in marriage to Karlee Kunkel in Hinton, Iowa. To this union Daxton and Dayleigh were born. Daniel drove truck for thirteen years, and for the last six years owned and operated Midwest Metal, LLC. Daniel passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Orange City Area Health at the age of 36.

Daniel was a member of Sutherland Church of Christ. He enjoyed demo derby, golfing and bowling but especially enjoyed racing. Most of all he loved his children.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karlee; children, Daxton and Dayleigh; mother, Shane (Eric) Irwin; father Ramo (Rae Jean Langley) Ohrt; siblings, Michael Ohrt, Marshal Ohrt, Peter (Natasha) Vos, Jade (Austen) Gonnerman, Maggie (Ryan) Sterler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Blake (Terri) Coughlin, Dillon (Carrie) Kunkel, Kylee (Nick) Massmann, Skylar (Mitchell) Mullally; mother-in-law, Shelly Kunkel; father-in-law, Mike Kunkel; step-siblings, Victor (McKenzie) Irwin, Hunter Irwin and Lauren Irwin; grandparents, Alice Ohrt, Mike Wilbur, and Jean Irwin; also cousin, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mearl Ohrt, Marvin Kunkel, Cheryl Wilbur, and Willie Mulder and cousin, Dylan Logan.
