Services for David E. Harn Sr., age 77, of Sheldon who passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley. His celebration of life will be 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon with Father Siby Punnoose ~ officiating.
Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon. With Military graveside services by McGlothlen-Cowie Post #145 of the Sheldon American Legion.
Visitation with family present will be from 5 – 7 P.M. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon.

After today’s graveside service, relatives and friends are invited to join the family at the Sheldon Park Shelter House.
David E. Harn Sr., passed away on August 17, 2023, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley reaching the age of 77 years and 28 days. Born on July 19, 1946, in Sheldon, Iowa, David lived a remarkable life filled with dedication, humor, and love.
David's journey began at Sheldon High School, where he completed his education in 1965. The United States Navy also played a significant role in David's life. He enlisted in 1966 and bravely served on the USS Tripoli until his honorable discharge in 1972. In recognition of his service to the country, David had the incredible opportunity to participate in Honor Flight.
David first served his community as a member of the Sheldon police department before venturing into the trucking industry, working for esteemed companies such as American Freight, RBH Trucking, and Kardell Trucking.
Throughout his life, David found joy in various hobbies and interests. He possessed a keen sense of humor that touched the lives of all those around him. He had an affinity for watching science fiction and was an avid collector of Coke memorabilia.
In addition to his professional endeavors and hobbies, David held dear several accomplishments that brought him immense pride. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and held strong ties to the VFW Post 7354 and McGlothlen-Cowie Post #145 of Sheldon.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Kathryn Harn and fiancé, Jeremy Studebaker of Ruthven, Iowa and Loretta and Lyle Boone of Sheldon; six grandchildren, Michael Harn, Dj Harn (Ashley Clark), Ashley Harn, Cassandra Beenken (Blake Leth), Blake Boone (Brooklyn Gravenish), Allison Nagel (Brent Bendlin); ten great grandchildren; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Harn Jr., three sisters, two brothers, three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, and parents-in-law.

Andringa Funeral Home; Sheldon, Iowa.
