Services for Deb Jurgensen, age 61, of Sutherland who passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at her residence. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Liberty Township Cemetery in Calumet. People who attend are asked to bring their own lawn chair. The service will also be live streamed on Facebook.
Visitation with family present will be from 6 – 8 P.M. on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.
Social distancing guidelines will be asked to be followed.

Debbie Lyn Jurgensen, the daughter of Howard & Carol (Faust) Crouse was born on December 28, 1958. She was raised on her family dairy farm in Paullina. She attended and graduated from Paullina High School in 1977. After high school she attended Spencer School of Business studying bookkeeping. On June 23, 1979, she was united in marriage to Neil Jurgensen in Paullina. They lived for a short time in Calumet before moving to their farm east of Sutherland and recently moved into town. Deb held a few jobs before becoming employed for Cherokee County Public Health for over 25 years and most recently Halverson Law Firm. Deb passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at her residence in Sutherland, reaching the age of 61 years.
Deb loved spending time with her family and was a very dedicated farm wife and mom. She was known for her caring heart. She looked forward to family suppers several times a week. Deb will forever be remembered for making her famous potato salad, roast beef a jus and strawberry cake. Her life was dedicated to her job, farm, husband, and most of all her children.
Left to cherish her memory, her husband, Neil of 41 years; children, Jill (Charlie), Austin (Hannah) all of Sutherland; mom, Carol of Sanborn; sisters, Kim (Steve) Lowe of Milford, Chris Wallin (Doug Stoermer) of Melvin; sister-in-law, Roxann (Denny) Diehm of Marshalltown; brother-in-law, Kent (Dawn) Jurgensen of Larrabee; many nieces, nephews, and a great nephew, Cooper and many friends.
Deb was preceded in death by her father, Howard, in-laws, Vernell and Shirley Jurgensen and brother-in-law, Kent Wallin.
