Diane C. Negus

Diane Corrine Negus, 84, of Kingsley, IA passed away on May 15, 2024 at Kingsley Care Initiatives. 

Diane was born in Sutherland, IA. She graduated from Sutherland High School and united in marriage to Merle Negus in 1958. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Through the years they lived in Sutherland, Rock Valley, Primghar, and Kingsley, IA and wintered in Mesa, AZ.

Diane worked as a nurse’s aid, an engineering secretary, and in a bank trust department while raising 5 children. She had many friends and enjoyed daily crosswords (in ink!), was one of the fastest quilters around, loved making pies and golfing. Incredibly, she has 3 hole-in-ones to her name.

Left to cherish Diane’s memory are her husband, Merle of Kingsley, IA. Children: Lisa, Lori, Joel, Julie and Angie. She has 4 grandchildren: Logan, Jasmine, Zac and Ali and 3 great grandchildren: Andrew, Hayden and Asher. Sister: Lorraine Oien of Bettendorf, IA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian Otto and Leona Haye; and brothers, Ernie and Harlan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2pm at the R.L. Johannsen Community Center in Sutherland, IA.
