Doris Kruse, the daughter of Eldon and Edna (Kummerfeldt) Traver, was born December 15, 1937, in Paullina, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from Paullina High School. On July 12, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ronald Kruse at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. Ron and Doris ran the Standard Station and the Kruse’s Grocery Store in Paullina and after retirement she worked for Monfort in Worthington, Minnesota. The couple’s retirement years were spent in Paullina. Ron preceded Doris in death on July 8, 2021.

Doris was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. She enjoyed the special time with family, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, embroidering and time with her granddaughter, Olivia. Doris’ family was always and the most important to her and when Olivia came, the world stopped as her granddaughter was born and was very important to her and Ron both as they adored and treasured her. They both treasured every minute they had with their little “Tootie” and their little red head. Scott and his family housed many foreign exchange students and Shania from Tanzania was their favorite. Later in life Doris would have Ron take her to Orange City to eat Chinese, then to Walmart in LeMars to shop.

She is survived by one son, Scott and his wife, Jean of Cherokee; granddaughter, Olivia and her husband Westin Dixon of Pleasanton, Nebraska; foreign exchange granddaughter, Shania Rehmudin of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Ade Traver; brother-in-law, James Kruse; also, other relatives and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ron, brothers, Burdette, Gordon, Charles, and Kenneth, sister-in-law, Marilyn Kruse, and niece, Sandy Junge.
