Duane was a member of First Reformed Church in Boyden.  Duane and Mary loved spending time at Lake Okoboji every summer with their family.  He was a big Green Bay Packers fan.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and golfing.  He always had the perfect lawn, driveway, and the cleanest cars.  Most of all, Duane enjoyed going to grandchildren’s events and being with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Mary of Boyden; two children and their spouses, Jill and Peter DeGroot of Olathe, Kansas and Doug and Kari Van Es of Sanborn; five grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler and Lexi DeGroot and Dalton and Lindsey Van Es.  He was also survived by his sister, Brenda (Laryl) DeWild of Boyden; brothers and sisters-in law, Lyle (Gayle) Moret of Littleton, Colorado, Linda (Dan) Nechrony of Centennial, Colorado, and Paul (Leila) Moret of Boyden; also, other relatives and friends.
