ELEANOR M. BERNAL
Eleanor Marie Bernal, the daughter of Franklin E. and Margaret (Kvasty) Dawson was born April 15, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her education at an early age and later in her life attained her GED. She was united in marriage to James Bernal on August 7, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple lived in California, Las Vegas, Nevada and Arkansas, before moving to Primghar in 1998. While in Primghar she was employed at Shortee’s Pit Stop and most recently before ill health forced her retirement at Kids Campus, a job she loved caring for the children. She passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Baum-Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 62 years, 7 months and 2 days.
She was a member of the United Church of Primghar and had served on the Spiritual Concerns of the church.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, James of Primghar; eight children, William and his wife, Vickie Brown of Paullina; Leslie Auburg of Apple Valley, California; Mike Kochara of Apple Valley, California; Martin Kochara of Apple Valley, California; Paul Kochara Jr. in Washington; Eddie Kochara of Apple Valley, California; Ann Scholzen in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania and Mary Smith of Gallitzin, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Dillon, Shane, Kristin, Scott and several other grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Hopcroft of Primghar, Iowa; Frances Baker of Melvin, Iowa, Marge Griffey of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Ada Davis of Paullina; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin E. Dawson, mother, Margaret Kvasty Dawson Brown, step-father, Ignatious Brown; brothers, Edward Ward and Robert Ward; and a nephew, Robbie Ward.
