ELLA M. ROSENBOOM
Ella Martha Rosenboom was born December 7, 1920 to Andrew and Katherine (Habben) Rosenboom on the family farm north of Boyden, Iowa. She received her education in Boyden Public school and graduated from the 8th grade. She chose not to continue her education and so she helped with housework and the daily farm chores. In her mid-teens she began working for neighbors as a hired girl; house cleaning duties, cooking etc. As the years went by, she learned to drive the car and then could do office cleaning at some of the business places in Boyden. She also cleaned homes in and around the Boyden and Sheldon areas. She sold her country home in June of 1997 and moved into Boyden. She resided in Boyden until suffering a stroke and was no longer able to care for herself. It became necessary for her to live at the Sanford Senior Care and she moved there in August 1, 2013. She passed away at Senior Care on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 reaching the age of 99 years and 17 days.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden. During her lifetime she enjoyed playing her piano. She was an avid reader of story books and loved taking care of African Violets. She always enjoyed a walk in the Boyden City Park weather permitting.
