Services for Evelyn Roseland, age 87, of Paullina who passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City. Her funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown with Rev. Carl Stenzel ~ officiating.
Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.
Visitation with family present will be from 3 to 5 P.M. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

EVELYN L. ROSELAND
Evelyn Lorraine Roseland, the daughter of John William and Mary Evelyn (Schimberg) Ryan, was born on February 4, 1936, in Merrill, Iowa. She graduated from Moville High School in 1954. She married Richard Brownmiller and they later divorced. She later married George Roseland. Evelyn worked at the Paullina High School starting in 1975 until 1992. Evelyn then began working at the Paullina and Primghar Nursing Homes as an aide. After she retired, she began doing homecare for many people around the area. She passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Prairie Ridge Nursing Home in Orange City at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 27 days.
Evelyn was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. She enjoyed reading and going to many sporting events. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol Drost of Bolivar, Missouri, Nancy Brownmiller of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mary Bruns of Paullina, and Sam (Patricia) Roseland of Hudson, South Dakota; twenty-one grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Anna Hinrickson, Alice Seehusen, Jerry Ryan, Margeurite “Rosie” Cain, and Dennis Michael Ryan; also other relatives and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Roseland, son, Steve Roseland, daughter, Margaret Roseland, and son-in-law, Bernie Bruns. She was also preceded by her siblings, Bill Ryan, Elizabeth Ryan, Patrick Ryan, Jim Ryan, Mary Ryan, Francis Ryan, and Mary Krutz.
